MY STORY
Jorge Chinchilla
I’m a Costa Rican trombonist, brass educator, arranger, and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor based in Dubai.
I began my career performing across classical, jazz, Latin, ska, and rock projects. In 2013, I co-founded Los Ajenos, a band that went on to achieve major success in Costa Rica and Central America, producing multiple Top 10 radio hits.
Since moving to Dubai in 2019, I’ve built a career as both a performer and educator. I’ve performed with orchestras, big bands, brass ensembles and freelance productions at venues including Dubai Opera, City Walk, Zero Gravity, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Al Maha Desert Resort. Alongside performing, I serve as Head of Brass at JESS Dubai, where I teach young musicians and lead the school’s brass programme.
Through this website I share free trombone transcriptions, brass teaching resources, arrangements, and educational material for musicians around the world.
